We are pleased to share that our online medical service, operated by Okinawa International Clinic Alliance, was featured in the October 10, 2025 (Friday) edition of The Nikkei (Nihon Keizai Shimbun).

The article, titled“Okinawa Sees 2.6-Fold Increase in Online Medical Facilities — Hotels Serve as Clinics for Visiting Tourists”,highlights the rapid growth of online medical services in Okinawa and introduces our initiative.

⚫ Expansion of Online Medical Care in Okinawa and Our Service

As part of the Data-Driven Regional Revitalization feature, the article details the growing adoption of online medical services across Okinawa and provides an in-depth look at our activities.

The article describes:

We, Okinawa International Clinic Alliance, launched our service as a pilot project in January and now operate 24/7 across the entire prefecture, including remote islands. Reservations are accepted by phone, after which patients are matched with a registered physician, and a nurse is dispatched to the hotel.

In one case in Kunigami Village, located about two hours from Naha Airport, a patient received a consultation within approximately 90 minutes after the initial call.

We, Okinawa International Clinic Alliance, have also partnered with local pharmacy chains to establish a medication delivery system, enabling patients to complete the entire process—from consultation to receiving prescribed medicine—within their hotel room.Even cases that typically require more than five hours at a hospital can be completed in under three hours.

Balancing Tourism and Regional Healthcare

With the recent increase in inbound tourism to Okinawa, many local hospitals and emergency facilities have faced growing pressure from walk-in visits by travelers with mild conditions.

As a new solution to this challenge, we play a key role in balancing the needs of both tourism and regional healthcare through our comprehensive 24-hour support system.

We hope this feature in The Nikkei will help more tourists, hotels, and local partners become aware of our service and how it supports both visitors and local communities across Okinawa.

Our service is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Please feel free to contact us anytime via chat or phone.
